Midlands Parishes

In the Midlands we have five Ukrainian Catholic Parishes - based in Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Coventry and Wolverhampton. We also administer two Mission Points in Lincoln and Northampton. All our  parishes and Mission points are part of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Family of London, which is registered as a charity in the United Kingdon - Charity Number 240088.

 

Our parish church in Nottingham is dedicated to Our Lady of the Holy Patronage, formally known as St Alban's. In Ukrainian "Храм Покрови Пресвятої Богородиці", and is located on BOND STREET, NOTTINGHAM, NG2 4QX. Car parking is scarce immediately adjascent to the church, however there is a conveient car park over the road within 3 minutes walk located at NG3 1JF.

Our parish church in Derby is dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel, "Храм Святого Архистратига Михаїла" and is on CAMBRIDGE STREET, OFF DAIRYHOUSE ROAD, DERBY, DE23 8HP.

Our parish church in Coventry is dedicated to St Volodymyr the Great, Храм Св Володимира Великого. We are on BROAD STREET, COVENTRY, CV6 5BN, however if using a Sat Nav the postcode CV6 5BG will get you directly to our church.

Our parish church in Leicester is dedicated to the Feast of the Ascenscion of Our Lord Jesus Christ - Храм Вознесення Господа Нашого Ісуса Христа. This church is on FOSSE ROAD SOUTH, LEICESTER, LE3 0DQ.

Our parish church in Wolverhampton is the only church purpose-built by Ukrainians in the UK to mark the millennium of Christianity in Ukraine. This parish church is dedicated to Sts. Volodymyr and Olha - Храм Свв. Володимира та Ольги and is located on MERRIDALE STREET WEST, WOLVERHAMPTON, WV3 0JR.

Our services in Rugby are kindly hosted at Hill Street Youth Community Centre, Hill Street, Rugby CV21 2NB until we can secure the use of a local RC Church,  and our services in Northampton take place at St Gregory's RC Church in Northampton, NN3 2HS.

 

Whilst based in Coventry, the parish priest and his assistant travel throughout the Midlands area and strive to cater for the pastoral and spiritual needs of Eastern rite Ukrainian Catholics, their friends and families.

 

Divine Liturgies are celebrated according to the Byzantine Rite and are predominantly served in Ukrainian with sections of the services conducted in English (mainly the Gospel reading, homily and parish announcements). 

 

Our parishes are led by an appointed parish priest, who is supported in all aspects of the parish by an able group of volunteer individuals, who assist in the upkeep and running of the parishes.  We are a small group of individuals who operate an open-door policy - all are welcome to share in God's message and love.
